A Loving Way of Life

Our values set us apart from other communities. Since the beginning, our team's mission has been to ensure that every resident is treated with love and the utmost respect. Experiencing our core values - trust, integrity, faith, service, and innovation - lived out every day at Chapel Pointe reassures seniors that they are making the right decision by welcoming us into their lives.

Because of each person’s individuality, A Loving Way of Life takes on different meanings. For a community member who needs a little extra help, it may be expressed by a trusted home care worker stopping in every day and taking a few extra minutes to sit and truly listen. For the retired homemaker, it may look like relaxing in the dining room with friends while the culinary team presents a steaming plate of food. For the employee who’s searched for meaning, A Loving Way of Life may mean finally finding a job that not only pays the bills, but also creates a sense of purpose and affirms personal value.

One thing is certain: no matter how beautiful the campuses, valuable the amenities, or appealing the maintenance-free lifestyle, Chapel Pointe’s desire to love and serve others humbly and wholeheartedly creates A Loving Way of Life.

We are a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization under IRS 501(c)(3)

Active Retirement Living Since 1944

Our founder, Rev. F.W. Henry, had a longtime dream of starting a retirement home in Pennsylvania to provide compassionate, personal care to seniors in need. Henry finally realized his dream when he purchased the 27-room Bedford Estate. The former owner wished that her Carlisle mansion might someday be used for this purpose.

Rev. Henry and his wife invested their life savings and received financial assistance from the New York Headquarters of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. A board of directors was formed, and the home was incorporated as a nonprofit company. It has been affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance ever since.

Chapel Pointe, then called The Alliance Home, was dedicated June 15, 1944. In the beginning, all hands on deck kept the home afloat. Each resident was asked to volunteer two hours a day, working in housekeeping, sewing, maintenance, and other areas. That same spirit of purposeful living still exists at Chapel Pointe.

Henry’s calling to provide a senior living ministry in Central Pennsylvania with a reputation for excellent service also continues today.

Chapel Pointe at Carlisle has grown to include the eight-acre Chapel Pointe campus, the two-acre Pointe Place neighborhood, and Chapel Pointe at Home, which provides services to the greater community. At Chapel Pointe, our family includes 200 residents, 185+ employees, dozens of volunteers, and thousands of friends and family members.

As we look toward the future, we will continue to treat our Chapel Pointe family with respect, place people first, promote independence, encourage choices, and provide benevolent care to residents in need.

Teamwork in Action

At Chapel Pointe, each person wakes up with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the coworkers with whom they partner, friends they see, and the seniors they serve. We build meaningful and trustworthy relationships that make our residents’ lives better. From front-line employees to managers to staff who work behind a computer, our whole team joins together to meet our residents’ needs, even when it means taking a pause from a daily to-do list to be fully present with a resident. It’s this love and level of dedication to seniors that has made Chapel Pointe one of the top retirement living communities in Central Pennsylvania.
