Carpe Diem With a Summer Bucket List

The long, lazy days of summer have arrived, but lazy doesn’t mean boring! Take advantage of the longer days and sunshine to explore our community and try something new.

Making a summer bucket list provides inspiration for your free time and helps to motivate you to be active. An active lifestyle can include focusing on your physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. Trying something new or rediscovering a lost passion can improve your health in multiple areas at the same time.

Whatever you decide to include on your list, make sure it’s unique to you so you have fun and look forward to your adventures.

Here’s a Chapel Pointe summer bucket list to provide inspiration for our residents and to help you carpe diem (seize the day)!

  1. Sample farm-fresh produce. Try Farmer’s on the Square in Carlisle every Wednesday evening or Chapel Pointe’s Country Fair in July.
  2. Have a picnic. Take a blanket or sit at one of Chapel Pointe’s picnic tables.
  3. Learn a new game. The Chapel Pointe Sun Room always has games, and the North Parlor hosts friendly Wii competitions. Did you know Bedford Terrace has a billiards table?
  4. Spot the baby turtles by the koi pond in Chapel Pointe’s courtyard.
  5. Try a Friday treat. Whether you stop by the Heritage Gardens Café for ice cream or walk downtown for First Friday, this day offers an extra dose of adventure.
  6. Take a walk. Enjoy the sunshine on our campus, head over to the Pointe Place site to hop on the Dickinson College walking trails, or put on your sneakers to run an errand.
  7. Eat a new food. Choose a dish that may surprise you in the dining room. In addition, Carlisle’s restaurants include fare from Mexico, Japan, China, Thailand, Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Italy, France, and more!
  8. Worship in a different way. You can worship God in silence, surrounded by nature, through art, by taste, through writing, alone, with people from another country, by serving, and a million other ways. “The Pointe Newsletter” has groups you can join.
  9. Meet someone. New residents and employees join our Chapel Pointe family regularly.
  10. Find “your perfect spot” and read a book. Check out Chapel Pointe’s library for material.
  11. Try a new activity. Whether it’s an exercise class, a craft, music, or a trip, “The Pointe Newsletter” is full of opportunities every month!

*Remember, it’s important to consult with a physician before beginning a new physical activity or changing your routine. Your personal physician can answer questions you have about trying something new.
