On March 7, Chapel Pointe at Carlisle completed a renovation to create 11 new personal care suites with floor plans that are unparalleled in the greater Carlisle area. The renovation, which began in May 2017, provides a greater range of choices for elders, enhances residents’ quality of life, and positions Chapel Pointe as a leading provider of personal care services locally.
Chapel Pointe prioritized its residents’ comfort above its own financial cost. The two floors of the Homestead North building used to include 21 personal care rooms that were similar to the rooms of other local personal care communities. It now offers 11 suites, which are large enough to be licensed in the future for assisted living, and three single rooms. The new suites all have been reserved, proving the renovation to be a positive transition for both Chapel Pointe and its residents.
Homestead North residents now have 265 square-foot suites, each with a living room, bedroom, and personal bathroom. Features such as walk-in showers, hand rails, and barn door style bathroom doors facilitate a lifestyle where residents are comfortable in their homes, can easily maneuver with assistive devices, and feel empowered to make their own decisions. The renovations also included enclosing two porches to create gathering rooms with entertainment for residents and their families to use in every season.
Designed by Cornerstone Design-Architects, the remodel cost $580,000 for Funk & Sons Construction to complete. Interior design was provided by GCI Design, Inc.
“At Chapel Pointe, we constantly evaluate ways – big and small – to empower our residents and create a loving community that enriches their lives. In this case, we saw an opportunity to create personal care suites that are unrivaled locally,” Debbie Sprague, executive director, said. “We operate in an ever-changing healthcare field, and this renovation positions us well to continue providing quality services across all levels of care in the future.”
The renovation supports prospective residents from the beginning by encouraging them to choose the living accommodations that best meet their desires, needs, and budget within this single level of care. Personal care at Chapel Pointe now comprises of 18 single rooms, 13 suites, and 12 memory support rooms, for a total of 43 personal care accommodations.
