On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, Aida Hovetter will turn 105!
Anyone who has met Aida may be surprised by this significant birthday, as she is often described as sharp as a whip.
In July of 2018, The Shippensburg News Chronicle honored Aida in an article, recognizing her as the town’s oldest living veteran. In that article her daughter shared how she is in awe of her mother, as Aida continues to look forward in life, almost like she is ignoring her age.
Aida served as a corporal in the Army Airways Communication Service from 1944-1945. She helped to pave the way for female service members. She has also been honored as the oldest living veteran in her home town of Walnut Bottom, PA. Aida is a true inspiration
When asked her secret to longevity Aida laughed, "I never really thought about it! I guess I've just always taken one day at a time and I never dwelled on age."
